Edit project settings
The General tab of the Project Settings window allows you to change the project's start year, duration, escalation/inflation date, price scenario from the Price File linked to the hierarchy, currency scenario and the economic limit date. To specify the settings, click on on the Palantir tab on the ribbon, and the settings window will be opened.
If you want to change the start year, you need to specify which variables will be shifted and which will be truncated. Click on next to the Start Year field, and the Change Start Year dialog will be opened. Edit the start year and select the Shift or Truncate option for each variable category, or use the Shift All and Truncate All buttons to apply the same setting to all variables. The list includes only those categories, variables from which are linked to the project.
The Escalation/Inflation Date field determines the starting point of inflation and escalation calculation; inflation and escalation rates will be applied to the period following the specified date. For information about how inflation and escalation rates are applied during calculations, see Inflation and escalation.
The economic limit date can be calculated automatically or set to a particular date.
Note: If the economic limit date is set to Calculated, the limit will be triggered depending on the Regime settings; for example, it can be based on the maximum cumulative before tax cash flow. From that moment on, it will not generate any results in the calculations except for delayed abandonment and tax payments.
The Min. months to evaluate option allows you to set the minimum number of months for evaluation before the economic limit can be reached. This can be used, for example, when a drilling program has a set time for completion before it can be abandoned.
Important: The economic limit date is rounded according to the periodicity of the Regime under which the project is created. For example, if you enter 4 in the Min. months to evaluate field but the Regime periodicity is semi-annual, the economic limit will be calculated based on 6 months of data.
The Sensitivities tab is not used in FINANCIALS.
